Bishop Giles Cote said terrorists were entering the Indonesian part of the island, with the consent of elements of Jakarta’s army, to fight against the Free Papua Movement.

West Papua independence protest at Pacific Islands Forum

Hundreds of people have rallied in Port Moresby to urge Pacific leaders meeting there to take West Papua's case for independence from Indonesia to the United Nations.

Activists for the cause of Melanesians in the Indonesian province on Papua New Guinea's western border, also wanted the Pacific Islands Forum to admit West Papuan delegates as observers.

But they have been barred from this week's meeting.
As forum leaders met in a hotel, West Papuan independence supporters rallied peacefully on the beach below to hear speeches and display West Papuan flags.

His Excellency Prime Minister of Vanuatu, In relation to the plan of PNG government to remove West Papuan Refugees 2000 to Kiunga, East Awin, PNG, at the moment we are continuously refusing it as there are so many problems related to the processes of the removal. The only reason is the the Papuans do not want to move, as they know already that Kiunga is the hell for them. Whoever sent there have never come back alive. That is the open prison for anyone from this Papua Soil.

West Papuan Refugees Request not to Stay in Papua Soil, but rather to Vanuatu

We would like to hereby declare that we are not going anywhere inside PNG territory, except to remain in Vanimo, PNG, according to the following agreement in a meeting between the villagers and the refugees. If there is any plan, because of being paid by colonial power of Indonesia, then there is no way we are going anywhere inside PNG territory, EXCEPT, we are removed from Papua Land, and go to the Republic of Vanuatu.

Indigenous Papua New Guinea NGO complaints about WWF are true!

RESPONSE TO WWF ABOUT PNG INDIGENOUS NGO COMPLAINTS - Indigenous people throughout the world must know of WWF's actions in Papua New Guinea. In PNG we have not only WWF but other BINGOS (big international NGOs) such as Conservation International and The Nature Conservancy. The recent fPcN comment that the WWF defence was "bullshit" is spot on. Here are the details of what is happening in Papua New Guinea with WWF and other BINGOs. In PNG we learned last year that whenever the BINGOS are criticized too effectively they think they may lose project money that they will start a witch hunt to find who is threatening there funding prospects so as to shut up the critics. This is what the BINGOs did in response to essays spreading around which showed the true colours of BINGO actions in PNG.

The BINGO witch hunting taught even doubters among the critics that we must go underground whenever complaining effectively about these corporate conservation monsters. We also learned that the BINGOs don't respond to our criticism meaningfully because in reality they have no respect for the small and simple PNG NGOS. They usually ignore criticism from PNG indigenous NGOs or they talk from one side of their mouth to us while saying something else in private. They are not interested in reform or any change to their neocolonialist structure and behaviour.
