The town dwellers of Kaimana were shocked by the deafening sounds of gun fires from amphibious tanks and warships early in the morning yesterday. Because of this exercise, they said that they are afraid and being intimidated by the massive presence of the Indonesian war machines.

OPM respond about illegal logging in West Papua

Economic is one of conflict root in West Papua when Indonesia took over West Papua. Indonesian is gulity of repressing the people of West Papua to get legitimation for the state of Indonesia. As, since 1962-1969 it invaded West Papua and until now still keeps it's unwanted invation in West Papua. After that Indonesia success to get legitimation of West Papua from the peoples by repressive to West Papua so, next it creates investments in national and International so, this investment must be pay ranges for it's nation. And investments do it's business in West Papua.

NEWS JUST IN: 15,000 village people have been herded into the mountains by army - machine-guns from helicopters - and now are starving. Their gardens destroyed, animals killed and sold by the army who deny access to these internal refugees - even the church people are not alowwed through the cordon they army has created.

8 West Papua Prisoners Released

We are pleased to announce the release of the following 8 prisoners from Abepura prison the other day. They were being held after re-arrest in connection with the 6th October 2000 Wamena case. In a brief phone call they thanked everyone who has supported them and sent letters and cards to them, which they said helped save their lives... 1.. Edi Marian, 2.. Frans Huby, 3.. Herry Kosay, 4.. Joel Wenda, 5.. Timanus Kogoya, 6.. Yohakim Huby, 7.. Agus Surabut, 8.. Isak Wenda.
