Sun, 07/01/2007 - 1. During the implementation of the Special Autonomy law no 21, 2001 in West Papua, the Indonesian government, military, and the state police reported to the international community that the security situation in West Papua was safe, conducive, and under control. And during that time the international community has been fed with false information and unjustified reports. The information was not based on the reality in West Papua.

It is my hope that one day Sengwer (also referred to as Cherangany or Dorobo) will find peace and live as other Nations that make Kenya a country.
Elders and Leaders from the community have used every opportunity at their disposal to raise fundamental issues affecting the indigenous community since Kenya became a British colony to date, but little has been acheived. For example:- They've presented oral and/or written memoranda in.... 1. 1932 during the Carter Land Commission 2. 1999 boycotted population since until the government gave them census
8 West Papua Prisoners Released
We are pleased to announce the release of the following 8 prisoners from Abepura prison the other day. They were being held after re-arrest in connection with the 6th October 2000 Wamena case. In a brief phone call they thanked everyone who has supported them and sent letters and cards to them, which they said helped save their lives... 1.. Edi Marian, 2.. Frans Huby, 3.. Herry Kosay, 4..
