We heard the good news early in the morning, that our brothers and sisters in West Papua have also commemorate 1st December, de day of the Morningstar, for some the West Papuan day of independence. We were concerned about the West Papuan casualties during the commemoration, that’s why it was very important to act abroad West Papua. Photographs will be uploaded at http://www.geocities.com/sap_nederland We have organized a picket line from 14.00 till 16.00 hour in front of the Dutch Ministry of foreign affairs building. Only a few Papuans were able to attend the action, but we had some help from our Achenese friends. It was a very small action, but we were very proud that we could do something to support our people.
At 15.00 hour we met with the deputy director of the Asia-Oceania section of the Ministry of Foreign affairs, Mrs. M. Bot. She accepted our petition and we had a good discussion. During our discussion we have pointed out the fact that the Dutch government is still political and moral responsible concerning the unlawful annexation of West Papua by the Indonesian government, in the process of decolonization. Besides that, we have also talked about the current situation in West Papua, especially about the TNI killing en terrorizing West Papuans and forcing, estimated 15,000, Papuan civilians to seek refuge on the hills of the Puncak Jaya Mountain and the clash in Jayapura between West Papuans and the Indonesian Police. We have also stress out our concerns, about the “too-friendly” position of the Dutch government towards the new government of Susilo Bambang Yudhono. A good bilateral relation with the Indonesian government must NOT be paid with our blood.
It was a good day to struggle, struggle on!
Selamat berjuang!
