1 December 2004. The anniversary of West Papua Independence Day, which was attended by students and the people of West Papua, was held at Abepura Trikora field [near Jayapura]. During the ceremony, a clash between military personnel and students left the following students wounded:
1. Name : Benny Edodi (injury /shot in the head) by M-16 weapon.
Occupation : Universitas Negeri Cenderawasih (UNCEN) student
Age : 22 .

2. Name : Marten Degei (injury/shot in his arm) by M-16 weapon.
Occupation : UNCEN student
Age : 23

3. Name : Yunus Kayame (Injury/shot in the head) by a Pistol.
Occupation : Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) Ottow dan Geisler student
Age : 25

4. Name : Ariston Murib (Injury/shot in his leg ) by a Pistol.
Occupation : Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Politik (FISIP) UNCEN student
Age : 22

5. Nama : Henny Lanny (was beaten with police rubber stick and her body was stepped on by police boots).
Occupation : student of University of Science and Technology Jayapura
Age : 23

The number of people who attended the celebration during the flying of Bintang Kejora [Morning Star flag] in Abepura Trikora field for one hour before the security personnel lowered it forcefully was 5000 people. The security personnel arrested Filep Karma and Yusak Pakage SH. STh and they took them to the police headquarter in Jayapura. When this report is published, they have not been released.
