The Dawid Kruiper Clan has asked us to explain to you the circumstances of the inhuman living of the Bushman in South Africa. The interferance in our traditional life began with colonial times. Our environment has been divided by borders and no one has ever recognised us as human beings. We are hunted and shot as pray on Safaris. Even the Bantu people have discriminated against us.

Finally president Nelson Mandela gave back to us a part of our land on 21st march 1999. The Welcom Declaration of the David Krueger Clan, which is very important to us, was enacted and documented. At least on paper. The reality has a different face. Our aspiration to live on our ancestors land traditionally has not been fulfilled. We are left with empty promises, quarrel and controversy. Corrupt officials, businessmen and the police, who continuously and randomly shot all the game on the land that was issued to us. This drove our people into alcoholism and forced our women and girls into prostitution. The use of the land was confirmed to us, but not coordinated or controlled, nor was there any help from the South African state. For confirmation you can read the human rights report of 2004/5.We still believe in the good will of our fellow humans, including the United Nations. Our pledge to all of you is to take action and care in this matter.

If the legalised genocide in southern Africa continues to be carried out politically, the so-called democracies of the world should be ashamed to call themselves democracies. We the south African bushman were split up, by calling us minorities and further dividing us, for example into San, Koi, Kung, Basara and many other clan names. But we see ourselves as Bushmen and feel as one people. This increased mixing up, with other peoples, follows from us being uprooted and discriminated against our traditional ways of life. But our will is to continue living our traditions, keep our identity as bushman and therefore continue to be a part of the cultural diversity. To be able to pass on our values and social structures to following generations, we need an intact and sufficient environment.

There is never-ending money support for warfare and nature conservation, but there is no support for the protection of our living space. We are looked upon as primitive by the civilised world, but exactly this world is robbing us of our traditional knowledge. Still we see ourselves as an integral part of nature, which we always have been preserving. We share the fate of eviction for so called nature preservation reasons with many brothers and sisters in Africa. We now urgently request you to support us and all other Bushman Clans in Africa. We further request that nature conservation organisations and the responsible departments of the national states, refrain from evicting tribals from their lands and undo the ones that have already been evicted. Should this aim not be fulfilled, we fear that our culture, one of the oldest in the world, will be totally extinct in no time. I wish for me, my bushmen and all supporters in southern Africa that the United Nations to truly take care of our needs and this situation, which is life threatening to us, so that the life circumstances that we were guaranteed, are finally and substainably put into practice.

Der Dawid Kruiper Clan hat uns gebeten, Ihnen die unmenschlichen Lebensbedingungen der Buschm‰nner in S¸dafrika vorzutragen. Die Eingriffe in unser traditionelles Leben begannen mit der Kolonialzeit. Unser Lebensraum wurde durch Grenzen geteilt und niemand nahm und nimmt uns als Menschen war. Wir wurden gejagt und als Beute auf Safaris geschossen. Auch die Bantubevˆlkerung diskriminierte uns.

Erst Pr‰sident Nelson Mandela gab uns am 21. M‰rz 1999 einen Teil unseres Landes zur¸ck. Die f¸r uns wichtige Welcom Deklaration des Dawid Kruiper Clans wurde damit umgesetzt und beurkundet. Zumindest auf dem Papier. Aber die Realit‰t sieht anders aus. Unsere Hoffnung wieder traditionell auf dem Land unserer Urv‰ter zu leben hat sich nicht erf¸llt. Geblieben sind leere Versprechungen, Streit und Zwist. Bewusst haben auf den uns ¸bereigneten Farmen Gesch‰ftleute, korrupte Beamte und die Polizei alles Wild geschossen, so dass wir hungerten und uns M‰nner zum Alkoholismus und unsere Frauen und M‰dchen in die Prostitution trieben. Es gab weder eine Koordination, noch eine ‹berwachung der uns zugesicherten Landnutzung oder anderweitig Hilfe vom s¸dafrikanischen Staat. All dies kˆnnen Sie im Human Right Bericht 2004/5 nachlesen. Wir jedoch glauben an den guten Willen unserer Mitmenschen und an die Vereinten Nationen, mit der Bitte sich unser Angelegenheit anzunehmen.

Sollte weiterhin im s¸dlichen Afrika auf diese Weise der legale Vˆlkermord politisch betrieben werden, m¸ssen sich die so genannten Demokratien dieser Welt sch‰men sich als solche zu bezeichnen. Wir s¸dafrikanischen Buschleute wurden zersplittert, indem man uns zu Minderheiten stempelte und weiter aufteilt wie z.B. in San, Koi, Kung, Basara und viele weiteren Clan Namen. Wir aber sehen uns als ein Volk. Die zunehmende Vermischung mit anderen Farbigen ist die Folge unserer Entwurzelung und Diskriminierung unserer traditionellen Lebensweise. Wir aber wollen unsere Traditionen weiterleben, unsere Identit‰t als Buschm‰nner bewahren und damit ein Teil der kulturellen Vielfalt bleiben. Daf¸r benˆtigen wir aber einen intakten und ausreichenden Lebensraum um unsere Werte und Normen auch an die nachfolgenden Generationen weitergeben zu kˆnnen. Es gibt endloses Kapital um Kriege zu f¸hren oder um die Natur zu sch¸tzen. F¸r den Schutz unseres Lebensraumes gibt es jedoch nichts. Wir werden von der zivilisierten Welt als primitiv angesehen, aber genau diese zivilisierte Welt raubt unser traditionelles Wissen.

Nach wie vor verstehen wir uns als ein integraler Teil der Natur, die wir immer bewahrt haben. Wir teilen das Schicksal unserer Vertreibung f¸r den angeblichen Schutz der Natur mit vielen anderen Schwestern und Br¸dern in Afrika. Wir bitten Sie Mr. Chairman dringlichst uns und alle anderen Bushman Clane in Afrika zu unterst¸tzen, dass Naturschutzorganisationen und die zust‰ndigen Stellen der Nationalstaaten die Vertreibungen aus unseren Stammesgebieten unterlassen und r¸ckg‰ngig machen. Falls dies nicht geschieht, bef¸rchten wir, dass unsere, eine der ‰ltesten Kulturen dieser Welt, in k¸rzester Zeit ausgerottet sein wird. Ich w¸nsche mir, meinen Buschm‰nnern und allen meinen Mitstreitern im s¸dlichen Afrika, dass die Vereinten Nationen sich ehrlich unseren Bed¸rfnissen und dieser f¸r uns lebensbedrohlichen Situation annehmen und den von uns, f¸r uns bestimmten Lebensbedingungen gerecht werden.
