Indonesian Military about to exterminate native Papuans in Central Highlands region of West Papua

Wed, 06/20/2007 - Urgent Telephone Action + TNI Numbers in Central Highlands - Monday, 18 June 2007

Closed Meeting of upper echelons of TNI & Police took place at Ifar Gunung Sentani 11/6/2007.

Massive bloodshed against native Papuans in the following weeks planned, to protect the military's business interests and to crack down on Papuan activists making their just demands, especially since the recent visit to the region of the UN's Special Rapporteur on Human Rights, Ms Hilani Jilani. It was disclosed from the closed meeting of Indonesian military top brass that military families (wives and children) be moved from the Central Highlands area to the provincial capital Jayapura. It is confirmed from contacts on the ground that this did indeed take place 8/6/2007 and 13/6/2007.

The TNI has downplayed the number of troops it has in West Papua, but it is confirmed from reliable sources that the actual number of Indonesian military personnel present in the Central Highlands region alone in preparation of massive ethnic cleansing against native Papuans is shockingly far higher than the previously conservative figure of 50,000 believed present in the whole of West Papua. These numbers were surreptitiously obtained from under the noses of the TNI (Indonesian military) and are as follows:

TNI/Indonesian Military, Police, BriMob and Special Forces (Kopassus) - Troop Numbers (in Central Highlands area alone)

Puncak Jaya: 150,000 troops
Timika: 315,000 troops
Yahukimo: 7,000 troops
Pegunungan Bintang (Star Mountains): 6,712 troops
Wamena: 305,000 troops
Paniai: 8,670 troops

A repeat of the bloodshed prior to pre-referendum East Timor on a far larger scale is anticipated. Brace yourselves.

Useful numbers for activists worldwide to let them know the world is watching with concern (shout Free Papua/Papua Merdeka - Papua Merdeikah, saya telepon dari luar negeri - saeeyah telepon daaree looarr negerriee, repeat Papua Merdeka - Papooa Merdeikah, repeat a few times down the phone just to let them know the world is watching):
