State Terror in West Papua by Indonesia. Matius Bunai was last seen alive three weeks ago today when he left a church service in the town of Nabire in the Indonesian province of Papua. His body, beaten and lacerated, was found dumped in the street the following morning. His neighbour, Ones Keiya, was still alive, just, when he was found with similar wounds, in similar circumstances, two weeks before. He died in hospital two hours later.

Papuans protested about the alleged abuses in Jakarta

Tue, 07/17/2007 - Indonesian police have been accused of killing, raping and torturing civilians with impunity in the province of Papua.

The New York-based group Human Rights Watch (HRW) said the most serious abuses were being carried out during the hunt for separatists.

Opposition to Indonesian rule in the isolated province has simmered since Jakarta took over from Dutch colonial control in 1963.

Indonesian Police Chief General Sutanto denied any abuses were taking place.

MURDER AT MILE 63 - West Papua

Part One: A Trip to the Big City - The U.S. Congress blocked moves to restore military aid to Indonesian following reports of its military’s involvement in the 2002 murder of American school teachers in Timika. The blockade was released after the indictment of Antonius Wamang by the Department of Justice. In May 2006 the Bush Administration announced a new Pentagon program that will provide up to $19 million to supplement existing programs for building Indonesian military capacity. Questions remain about whether Wamang acted alone. Where did Wamang obtain bullets?

To Our friends in UK.

Thanks for all the moral and material supports for your people in West Papua.

We from Demmak, Mulia, Puncak Jaya, would like to report that there are things that have not been taken seriously by the Provincial Government of Papua, Indonesia. Since the incident in Tingginambut on 17th August 2004 that caused the loss of many lives and people's materials until the time this report is sent, there has not been any attention from human rights groups and from the government (who should have done something).

Highlands situation in West Papua is Deteriorating!!

Embargo until 19.00 Eastern Indonesia Time, December 16th, 2004, Unless President Yudohyono stops military operation in the Highlands the West Papuan people will bar his visit.
