Ogiek Indigenous Peoples of Chepkitale Forest in Mount Elgon Cry for Your Help!

Dear All, Greetings. The situation of Ogiek Indigenous Peoples who are the current victims of land clashes is getting worse. The death toll is increasing. The number of the dead has risen to over 20 after a pregnant woman died yesterday after failing to get medical attention. The body of the deceased has been taken to Kitale mortury. The Sabaot Land Defence Force have continued to burnt houses and property of the Ogiek Indigenous Peoples. The Ogiek houses in Tingwalia, Cheptoror, Kopukwo, Kewapkoi, Kebe, Kapsongom and Simotwet villages have been burnt.

TNI attack and torture Papuan civilians in Pyramid, near Wamena

Yesterday we received alarming reports that Indonesian military personnel are currently abusing the fundamental human rights of Papuan civilians in Pyramid, near Wamena, West Papua:
Tuesday 8 July 2005: 12 members of the TNI from two districts (Assologoima and Bogolame) began intimidating and torturing innocent Papuan civilians in the little village of Moragame (Pyramid) in Assologoima District, near the town of Wamena .

Indonesian Military Reacting Brutally in Wunin, Wurineri District, Burning Houses, Churches and Offices

[WPNews] Mbaliem, Saturday, 15 January 2005]. Our correspondent from Mbaliem (Wamena) reported today of a military brutality against civilians in Wunin District, Wurineri Village, Tolikara Regency, Jayawijaya, West Papua by the Indonesian military. The attack happened on 08:00AM, when the villagers were on their way to their gardens for their daily activities. The military were wearing ordinary clothes, but carrying short machine-guns. They, the military (Kopasssus - Indonesian Special Forces) attacked the villagers, houses, animals and plants (gardens).
