Akha villagers in Northern Laos testified on video that Norwegian Church Aid and Action Contra La Faim staff coming to their villages to do various projects had demanded village girls to rape on repeated occasions. Staff often stayed for weeks at a time in villages while doing projects. Akha villagers said that the practice was widespread on the part of numerous NGO‘s in the Muang Long area. Akha villagers gave the names of many villages where the rapes occurred and the names of specific girls who had been raped and became pregnant. Girls ranged in age from 15 to 18.

Papuan students tell of violence
KERRY O'BRIEN, PRESENTER: Proposed new laws intended to deter asylum seekers from the troubled Indonesian province of Papua are already being tested. The new laws would see asylum seekers who arrive by boat, processed offshore and resettled in another country if they are found to be refugees. The tough new policy was announced after 42 Papuans were given temporary protection visas after arriving here in January, a decision which, you'll recall, enraged the Indonesian Government.
The Quiet Death of the Bushmen
Roy Sesana has seen a lot of the world. Last year the seventy-six year old Bushman travelled to the United States, in order to draw attention both to the ” First People of the Kalahari”, an organisation he had founded in 1991, and to his own tribe. On 9th December 2005 he was awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize in Stockholm.
He is sitting beside me in the East Side Hotel in Berlin, and patiently awaiting the questions I am about to ask him. He scrutinizes everything around him. "Here, in the northern hemisphere, the "White” people live at the expense of the people of the South."

Indonesian Troops Accused Of Raping Children Of Papua
Indonesian government and military were accused for many years of gross human rights violations in West Papua (formerly known as West Irian). Accusations ranged from rape, torture, kidnapping, extra judiciary executions, murder, forced conversions to Islam, destruction of entire villages and forced resettlement of entire communities. As was in case of East Timor, majority of Indonesian public remained blissfully ignorant, unaware and uninterested in the issue. Media refused to conduct any in-depth investigation and report on those occurrences.
